Problem/Objective
This roof system had multiple leaks that continued after years of repairs. KCCR found that the previous modified bitumen roofing system was only around 15 years old but with the continued leaks it was necessary to provide a dependable solution to our customer since they were renovating the inside of the building.
Solution
The roof structure did not have multiple roof systems and weight was not an issue. Applying a HydroStop LAM System over the existing Modified Bitumen roof system would give the customer a new 20-year roof system without the need to complete a total roof replacement.
Results
Upon completion of the HydroStop LAM System, our customer gained a new sustainable 20-year roof system that remains watertight, is aesthetically appeasing, and keeps their newly renovated building safe from water stains. The monolithic LAM System ensures that the new roof will never see any deterioration of seams or flashings. This roofing project was budget-friendly and saved our customer a great deal of money by completing a retro-fit instead of a roof replacement. Two major benefit of the HydroStop roof system that our customer now enjoys are the savings in energy costs and the stainability of this roof system; after the 20-year manufacturer's spec, a quick and inexpensive re-application of the top-coat refreshes the roof system for another 15-years without repair, retro-fit, or replacement costs!
